IBC Liners for Edible Oil Packaging
IBC liners provide a protective barrier that shields the oil from contamination, oxidation, and external pollutants. This barrier helps maintain the purity and quality of the oils by preventing direct contact with the container, which might otherwise introduce impurities or react chemically with the oil.
At CDF, our liner bags are designed with quality and durability in mind to keep products protected and, in the case of oils, prevent leakage. Our IBC liners are also designed in a way to maximize product disbursement so less product is wasted. CDF’s range of IBC liners includes:
- Form-Fit liners
- Air-Assist liners
- Pillow-shaped liners
BIB for Edible Oil Packaging
Bag-in-box, or BIB, packaging can significantly extend the shelf life of olive oil. BIB is a two-piece solution, consisting of an outer corrugated box and a flexible bag that’s housed within it. The bags are typically made from high-barrier materials that protect the oil from oxygen, light, and moisture, which can degrade the oil over time. The flexible bag contains the product and can be outfitted with specialty fitments and closures to make product dispensing easy and convenient. Moreover, these flexible bags are also available in bulk sizes.
Bag-in-box packaging also offers a variety of sustainability benefits including:
Preservation of Quality: By minimizing exposure to air and light, bag-in-box packaging helps maintain the flavor, aroma, and nutritional qualities of olive oil. This is crucial for high-quality oils where taste and fragrance are paramount.
Ease of Use and Convenience: The tap or valve on a bag-in-box system allows for easy dispensing of the oil, making it convenient for both home and commercial use. It also reduces the risk of spills and makes it easier to use every last drop of oil, reducing waste.
Eco-Friendly: Bag-in-box packaging often has a lower environmental impact than other packaging options. The bags are collapsible, which reduces the volume of waste, and they require less energy and resources to produce and transport.
Innovative Design: The Cheertainer® form-fit style bag-in-box optimizes space by conforming to the inside of the box, maximizing product evacuation compared to standard pillow-style bags.
Versatility in Sizes: Bag-in-box systems, including both the Cheertainer® and standard pillow styles, are available in various sizes, from small retail packages to large volumes suitable for food service applications, offering flexibility based on consumer and business needs.
Drum & Pail Liners for Edible Oil Packaging
At CDF, we offer a variety of liners for all sorts of drum and pail types. Our liners are thermoformed and heat-sealed to properly safeguard the product while also offering maximized reuse of the container. At CDF, we offer liners for:
- Round-bottom containers
- Steel drums and pails
- Plastic drums and pails
- Fiber drums
40% = 34.7 million tons
According to a Flexible Packaging Association (FPA) study, nearly 40% – or 34.7 million tons – of all produced foods are sent to landfill each year.
Cost Effectiveness
CDF’s solutions are just as cost-effective as they are practical and sustainable. They’re designed to accelerate packaging production and fit in with existing production lines to maximize convenience and make the switch all the more doable.
CDF’s solutions also help streamline cost savings by maximizing transportation shipments. Take BIB, for example. Because more packages can fit on fewer truckloads, firms can reduce their overhead shipping costs.
Environmental Impact
CDF’s solutions aren’t just a better alternative to conventional packaging, they’re also a more sustainable alternative. Take bag-in-box, for instance. The corrugated packaging shell is 100 percent recyclable. What’s more is this shell also makes BIB packaging easier to stack and store in warehouses and pack onto trucks, saving space and maximizing every shipment.
CDF’s other packaging solutions offer various sustainability benefits too. They use less material, which means that less waste goes to landfill and also specialize in maximizing product evacuation. In the case of oil packaging, it means that less oil remains in the bag and more is utilized.
