Spreads & Toppings Packaging
Spreads & Toppings Applications
Revolutionize Your Packaging
Effective packaging is crucial for preserving the quality and convenience of spreads and toppings. It must shield the product from contamination and oxidation, be user-friendly, and preferably eco-friendly.
Since spreads and toppings often contain high moisture levels and nutritional value, they’re susceptible to spoilage and microbial growth. Manufacturers must prolong shelf life while maintaining taste and health benefits, typically through preservation methods and innovative packaging solutions.
Manufacturers must find ways to extend shelf life without compromising taste or health benefits, often through preservation techniques and packaging innovations.
Drum & Pail Liners for Spreads & Toppings Packaging
At CDF, we offer liners for steel, plastic, fiber, and round-bottom drums and pails. Our thermoformed liners are heat-sealed and designed to hold and protect all product types, including spreads and toppings. Our liners help streamline filling operations and provide protection for the product throughout the entire lifecycle. They also help promote reuse of the drum or pail container and support sustainability initiatives.
BIB for Spreads & Toppings Packaging
Bag-in-box packaging (BIB) is a two-piece package that consists of a flexible bag within a corrugated outer shell. The inner bag is equipped with specialized fitments and taps that streamline the dispensing process, ensuring easy and complete product evacuation. Once primarily used to package liquids, BIB packaging is now suitable for other applications, like spreads & toppings packaging.
At CDF, we offer BIB packaging in bulk sizes up to 25 liters.
IBC Liners for Spreads & Toppings Packaging
A good IBC liner needs two things: quality and durability. At CDF, our liner bags are designed to ensure just that, while also meeting any unique requirements for your product’s needs. Integrated fitments and valves help to preserve the product’s integrity while allowing for maximum evacuation.
Our range of liners includes:
- Pillow liners
- Air-Assist liners
- Form-Fit liners
40% = 34.7 million tons
According to a Flexible Packaging Association (FPA) study, nearly 40% – or 34.7 million tons – of all produced foods are sent to landfill each year.
Environmental Impact
CDF’s packaging solutions are designed with the environment in mind. From our liners, which use less material and send less waste to landfills, to our bag-in-box solution, which can be partially recycled and also helps improve transportation logistics, CDF’s solutions are intended to help our partners meet any sustainability goals.
One of the biggest benefits of flexible liners and bag-in-box liners is the environmental impact they have, which is especially significant as brands continue to refine their long-term sustainability goals and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policies. Some of the key environmental benefits include:
- Enhanced shelf life: Aseptic IBC liners are specialized packaging solutions designed to maintain the purity of liquid products during filling and storage. These liners help maintain the product’s purity and quality by preventing contamination from bioburden or foreign particles in the production process.
- Liners tend to be low-density plastic, which reduces the overall amount of plastic that’s used.
- Flexible liners can also be created with innovative discharge features, enhancing product evacuation compared to conventional containers or bottles for condiment and sauce packaging.
- The box portion of bag-in-box packaging is 100 percent recyclable and biodegradable, and recyclable films continue to gain traction in the market for use with liners. Rigid containers, conversely, don’t maximize product evacuation and almost all of the container is going to landfill.
Cost Effectiveness
CDF’s solutions aren’t just good for the environment, they also help our partners save money. By helping streamline the transportation process, conserve storage space in plants, and integrate seamlessly with existing equipment to promote better shop-floor efficiency, CDF’s packaging solutions help deliver a boost to your bottom line.
