Dish Soap Packaging
Bag-in-Box for Dish Soap Packaging
While once most synonymous with wine and other drinks, the bag-in-box packaging format has evolved to a point where it’s an adequate packaging format for a wide range of products, even high-viscosity liquids like dish soap. Much of this expanded range of applications is largely due to flexible bag inserts that can be used with this format. We’ll get into more of the key benefits of bag-in-box throughout the rest of this post.
Benefits of Bag-in-Box for Dish Soap Packaging
There are a variety of benefits associated with the bag-in-box format for dish soap packaging. We’ll get to more about one of the key benefits in the section below, but its sustainability offering and minimal environmental impact is one of them.
Some other benefits of bag-in-box packaging include:
- Package format: CDF’s bag-in-box packaging integrates easily with wall-mounted racking systems, ensuring a smooth switch from rigid containers to our bag-in-box solution.
- Extended shelf life: The flexible bag and dispensing system help preserve product shelf life. With dish soap, this is especially notable as it pertains to locking in color and scent for maximum cleaning performance.
- Dispensing ability: Arguably the biggest benefit of bag-in-box packaging is that the flexible bag is outfitted with fitments and spouts that make dispensing products fast, mess-free, and easy. This format also helps maximize product evacuation so there’s more used and less wasted product.
Cost Effectiveness
Bag-in-box packaging is also proven to be a more cost-effective option than conventional packaging formats (i.e. f-style jugs/bottles, semi-rigid containers, etc.), largely due to many of the benefits that we’ve already listed throughout this post.
As a reminder, bag-in-box packaging is able to extend product shelf life, which results in less product waste. It’s also a lightweight packaging format, so it’s easier to stack and store, and brands can usually save on transportation costs.
Environmental Impact
As we noted above, one of the biggest benefits of bag-in-box packaging is its minimal impact on the environment, especially when compared to conventional types of packaging. The corrugated box portion of this format is created using less energy and resources compared to glass and other formats.
What’s more is that it’s 100% recyclable after use. Depending on the type of flexible bag that’s used, it too may also be able to be recycled.
An additional sustainability benefit with bag-in-box packaging is that it’s lightweight and easier to transport. And lighter trucks mean better fuel economy, which can help curb carbon emissions.
