Sour Cream Packaging
Looking for new, innovative solutions to bulk sour cream packaging? CDF has a range of solutions – from bag-in-box to IBC liners. Read on to learn more about these solutions or contact CDF today for more information.
IBC Liners for Sour Cream Packaging
CDF offers a range of IBC liners for sour cream packaging, all of which are designed to enhance product purity while offering high levels of quality and durability. Additionally, our solutions are designed to maximize product evacuation – up to 99.5 percent compared to traditional IBC liners.
Among the IBC liners that CDF offers are pillow liners, Air-Assist liners, and Form-Fit liners.
Bag-in-Box for Sour Cream Packaging
Bag-in-box is a packaging format that consists of both a corrugated box and a flexible bag. The corrugated box serves as the protective shell for the flexible bag, which holds the product. The bag resides inside the box and is outfitted with fitments and closures to help easily dispense the product.
Once solely used for liquid product packaging, bag-in-box has evolved to a point today where it’s applicable for semi-viscous products, like sour cream, as well. Some benefits of the bag-in-box format include ease of use, convenience, and the ability to extend product shelf life. It’s also a format that applies to bulk sizes, with bags available up to 25 liters in size. One of CDF’s bag-in-box flexible bags is also UN-certified for food and beverage products.
40% = 34.7 million tons
According to a Flexible Packaging Association (FPA) study, nearly 40% – or 34.7 million tons – of all produced foods are sent to landfill each year.
Cost Effectiveness of Sustainable Packaging
CDF’s packaging solutions are more than just mindful, they’re also practical and beneficial to your bottom line. Our solutions are designed to enhance efficiency on the shop floor, easily integrating with existing packaging equipment to speed processing and maximize filling operations. Additionally, savings can be realized in transportation costs, as more products can fit onto fewer truckloads.
Environmental Impact of CDF Solutions
CDF’s solutions offer many sustainability benefits. For instance, CDF solutions use less overall material, meaning that fewer resources are required during manufacturing and less material goes to landfill at the end of the package’s lifetime.
Additionally, many of CDF’s solutions can be either fully or partially recycled. Take bag-in-box, for instance – the corrugated portion of the package is fully recyclable in standard recycling streams.
Another benefit to CDF’s range of packaging solutions is that less overall product goes to waste. Since liners and bag-in-box formats help maximize product evacuation, more product can be dispersed and used – minimizing food waste, a leading cause of methane emissions.
